1:48 am - LUSH Product Testing Round 1
|
I had seen this brand at the counter in Macy's and there is a freestanding store at my mall. However I love testing new natural skincare products so obviously LUSH caught my attention. So I've decided to start cycling through products to see how they work and help my skin finally calm the heck down from its acne crazed years as a teen.
*Angels on Bare Skin* Facial Cleanser This was the first product I bought at LUSH. I still had my expensive, but beloved Boscia skincare at home, but needed a new cleanser. The sales people said this was a standard favourite for a basic cleanser. It is good for all skin types and has a shelf life of three months which isn't too bad at all. The unusual texture was very tricky to manage at first. I'd never used a cleanser like this before, but it was like having a thick pasty exfoliant in my hands. It's a thick paste with some seeds of some sort to help exfoliate. Overall I can see the appeal of the product because its exfoliation is gentle. However my main drawback was my skin didn't feel very clean after using it even though I could see that it was clean. Overall I'd rate this a 5 out of 10.
*Dark Angels* Facial Cleanser This is Lush's newest cleanser intented to be good for problematic or oily skin. Now I have combination skin that's a touch more dry. But Dark Angel reminded me of one my former favourite skin products, MAC Cosmetics Volcanic Ash exfoliator. Dark Angel has rhassoul mud to kill bacteria and charcoal to absorb oil and exfoliate. There are other ingredients in there as well to help soothe the skin as well. I love the oil absorbtion qualities of this cleanser, it leaves my face feeling super clean. The exfoliation is a bit coarse for sensitive skin so if you have sensitive skin I would not recomend this particular product as it could irritate your skin. However for myself, the exfoliation has been keeping my skin super smooth and soft, but I have taken to only using this product every couple of days as the heavy exfolation every day will do more damage than good to my skin .But you only need a little of this product to go a long way so I would definitely score this an 8 out of 10.
